  • 1.  LOGIN object lock out issue

    Posted 22 days ago

    Hi Team,

We have one login object which is used for several jobs. But the issue is whenever we trigger the job the job fails due to the lockout of the login object. We reset the password several times and also, we reset the password as never expires. After this also faced the same issue. The failed job details showing as -'U02001000 Job 'JOBS.AD.NAWDTOE1' could not be started. Error code '1909', error description: 'The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to.'

Can you help us to understand the cause of this issue? and how can we fix it?

    Thanks and regards,
    Ashmitha

    Hi Ashmitha,

the error you are receiving is not an Automic error message, but a Windows error message. It means, that the account has been locked (for example because it had too many failed login attempts).

Is it a local or a Domain user? Please try unlocking the user.

    Regards, Markus

    Hi Markus,

It's a service account that we are using for that particular object. We have unlocked the user account many times, but still we are facing this issue frequently.  Is there any permanent solution for this?

    Thanks and Regards,

    Siddharth

    Hi,

since you mentioned that this happens frequently I assume that somebody else is also trying to use that service account and causing it to get locked. Can you find login attempts other than from Automic?

    Regards, Markus

    Hi Markus,

No, it is not a local user. It is a Service Account.

    Thanks and regards,

Do the jobs ever work ? Like immediately after you reset the password, do they function or do they fail immediately?
If they work briefly and then start failing again then another process or another person maybe using that password and locking it.
If it always fails immediately, did you try refreshing the password in the login object itself. Also how was the login object created on the client if it was simply created or gone through the transport case, I think you'd be okay but , if I'm not mistaken, if you use import export to move the login object the password gets removed
