    Posted Apr 23, 2025 09:27 AM

I have Endpoint Protection installed on a single Windows computer.
    Version 14.2, build 1015.

The status menu states Antivirus and Antispyware Protection definitions are out of date.
They are at least 3 weeks old.

I click on the Fix button and I get a dialog box that states
"Symantec endpoint protection has requested a protection definitions update. this problem will disappear after the update is complete."
I can only click OK to this message and then nothing happens.

I have been getting this every time I click on Fix for the past many days.

If I click the LiveUpdate button, I get this :

"The following Symantec products and components are installed on your computer:

    > SEP Client Security Updates
    > AP Portal List
    > Intrusion Prevention Signatures
    > Symantec Endpoint Protection Client

However, the status warning still exists and nothing is updated.

How do I update the definitions to make this warning go away?

    Thank you.

SEP 14.0 - 14.2.x are EOL and thats the reason, you need to upgrade / update to 14.3.x.

    Hello Dimetry,

Thanks for using the Broadcom Community!

To better assist you with your upgrade / update to 14.3.x questions I'd refer you to the following documentation:
For On Prem SEPM manager / On Prem SEP client upgrade information:
    https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/symantec-security-software/endpoint-security-and-management/endpoint-protection/all/upgrading-to-a-new-release-v14510472-d27e6.html

NOTE: Make sure you upgrade your On Prem SEPM Manager to the same version or higher than the SEP client version you wish to use in the future for successful results.

For SES Cloud upgrade information see this link:
