Json Web Token access for rest API

we are working to export Spectrum device model inventory to a 3rd party application, for the purpose of auditing multiple applications.  The goal is to find the inconsistencies between CMDB, Spectrum and a few other applications, in regard to network devices.   The software to perform this is Portico, and I'm looking to verify if we can setup Json Web tokens for authentication, or would it be preferred to use a service acct?

Timing is everything.

Current Spectrum doesn't support tokens yet.   But we are planning to release token authentication support in the next upcoming release of Spectrum.
