    Hi everyone,

i want to test to migrate my Java-Client/RPG-Server Application on an IBM i to Java-Client/Java-Server App on IBM i.

I fight with the set up...

I don't get it how to tell the app to call a java-server function which resides on the ibm i IFS.

    online help didn't help.

has anyone an overview how to handle and set up this?

    best regards. tobias

    Hello Tobias,

You have not described the steps you have carried out so far.

When mentioning that the online help did not help, are you only referring to the help within the Plex IDE?

If yes, you can find further information about the Java setup having a look at the Getting started manual, Chapter: Set Up Java on the System i.

Perhaps the information found there can assist you with the setup.

I tried the same some years ago for a test and was able to successfully call a Java function on the IBM with the help of the mentioned chapter.

Here is a link to the Online documentation on the Broadcom site:

    https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/intelligent-automation/ca-plex/7-3-0/installing/how-to-install-and-configure-the-java-components-for-ca-plex.html

Note: the CRTJVAPGM cmd is no longer available, I am not sure but I think since OS V7R2.

    Best regards
