  • 1.  Is the Automic Automation Engine v 24.4 compatible with Agents v 12.3?

    Posted 26 days ago

Hello, we are planning to upgrade the Automic Automation Engine from version 21.0 to 24.4.

Unfortunately on some VMS with RHEL 7 the agents cant be upgraded to version 21.0

So the question: Is the communication between Automic Automation Engine 24.4 possible with agents on version 12.3?

If there are threads or solutions from the past, feel free to post them here.

    Warm Regards

    Michael

    Hi @Michael Titze

An Agent of v12.3 (preferable v21.3.9 HF2 v12.3.9 HF2) can connect to an AE v24.4 CP and using the old GSS protocol. You might need the TLS-gateway when doing file transfers with newer Agents or your AE-system does not offer a CP anymore (because it runs on Kubernetes).

But be aware that this scenario is not tested/verified by Broadcom and v12.3 is already out of support. Even v21 will be out of support by September 2025.

I upgraded to version 24.4 and worked for a week with agent 12.39. I had no file transfer jobs using Automic. During this time, I identified that, in my environment, it is not possible to receive the job log update at runtime (OPEN REPORT). Only at the end of the execution is it possible to see the log.
