Integrating External Services with OAuth2.0 Authentication in Layer7 Gateway

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working with Layer7 Gateway and looking to integrate it with an external service that requires OAuth2.0 authentication. I understand that I need to set up the Authorization Bearer for OAuth authentication in the Authentication Tab of the Route via HTTP(s) assertion. However, I'm not clear on the simplest way to obtain the OAuth Token from the external service.

My questions are:

1. Do I need to directly modify policies in the Policy Manager to fetch the OAuth Token?
2. If I make direct modifications to an API created through the API Portal in the Policy Manager, will those modifications persist if the API is later updated via the Portal?

I appreciate any guidance or advice you can provide on this matter.
