Hello, OPS/MVS community! The OPS/MVS team is pleased to announce the release of feature PTF LU17625, which improves communication between OPS/MVS and external service management systems in situations where the primary target host server in the external system becomes unavailable.
New USS environment variables have been added to the ADDRESS USS SMREQ and ADDRESS USS NCREQ host environment commands, enabling the following improvements:
- OPS/MVS users are notified when the primary target host goes down and which backup host is being used.
- OPS/MVS continues to retry the primary host at regular intervals and notifies users when the connection has been restored.
- OPS/MVS users can choose to be notified of which host is receiving each ADDRESS USS SMREQ and ADDRESS USS NCREQ request.
