    Dear Valued Rally Customer,

In today's Rally Roadmap presentation, we will announce the planned deprecation of the App SDK and Custom Pages. The targeted end-of-life for these features is October 31, 2026.

This decision was driven by the need to ensure the long-term security, performance, and stability of the Rally platform. The App SDK is built on technology that is no longer actively supported, and maintaining it beyond the deprecation date would introduce unacceptable security and performance risks. Our commitment to providing a secure and high-performing service necessitates this change.

We understand that for many of you, custom pages and the apps within them are a critical part of how you use Rally. Our goal in announcing this well in advance is to ensure you have ample time (more than a year) to plan and manage a smooth transition.

To provide a modern, secure, and powerful alternative, our strategic focus is to enhance Rally's newer custom reporting capabilities. We have been investing heavily in Custom Views and are confident that, combined with the Custom HTML widget, they can provide much of the same flexibility and tailored experience that custom apps have offered, if not more.

To support your transition, we are committed to the following:

    • Continued Enhancement: We will continue to invest in and expand the capabilities of Custom Views between now and the deprecation date.

    • Transition Support: To help you assess the impact and plan your migration, we have provided administrators with tools to manage custom pages and view usage data for each. This will help you identify which pages and apps are most critical to your organization. These should be prioritized when creating new custom views.

    • Open Dialogue: We are here to help. We know this change may raise questions specific to your unique implementation of Rally.

We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for your team.  We believe in transparent communication, especially when it comes to changes that may impact your team's workflows.

Please visit the deprecation notice in our technical documentation for up to date information about the announcement and links to resources to help you with the transition.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to your account representative or our support team to schedule a follow-up conversation. We are happy to discuss your specific use cases and help you plan your transition strategy.

Thank you for being a valued Rally partner.

    Best regards,

    The Rally Product Team
