How to delete unused software from software catalog

Found this post on how to delete unused software from software catalog.

Questions:

- How to actually delete the unused software? 

Directly from under Software Catalog or All Software > All Software Components?

I noticed that I can only right-click delete from Software Catalog > Undefined Software

 

- Is there faster way to delete the unused software?

It will take some time to delete when the number of software as below.

Hi Ain!

Here is a discussion about similar question and there is a custom report where you can select thousands of records and delete them via right click menu

But, if you have ITMS 8.7.2 release version, then there is a purging task available to delete "not installed software"
There is a view "Not Installed Software"

Schedule options and report to see what data will be preserved or deleted if purging will be enabled

This scheduled task will be created and running daily at 12:30 AM
