Definition and Content Update Interval in SEP client

Hello everyone!

The definition and content updates are manually applied on the SEPM and SEP clients receive updates through the SEPM. In this setup, is there a specific interval at which SEP clients receive the definition updates? Are these updates based on a fixed schedule, such as the LiveUpdate schedule, or do they depend on the communication cycle, such as the heartbeat process? Can someone explain this to me in detail?

Hi,

The default is Every 4 hours, SEP clients on Windows clients run LiveUpdate to download the latest content.

Hi,

Each group has communication settings which is push (realtime) or pull (cyclic). If you set it to pull then every x minutes client will contact server and query about new updates. So this is the schedule you're looking for. SEPM on the other hand, has separate schedule to connect to Symantec and download new updates.
