    As part of our Optimize strategy, the Datacom team is pleased to announce the general availability of the new PTF LU16779!


    Feature Overview

    This enhancement expands Buffer Pools by Area by significantly reducing the amount of 31-bit storage used with the BUFFER_POOL_INDEX option for indexes residing in VSAM linear datasets.

    Key Benefit
    Enabling the 64-bit Buffer Directory Entries (BDEs) allows increased usage of dedicated buffer pools with the associated performance benefits.
