Hello Datacom CADRE Community members,
As part of our Enable strategy, the Datacom team is pleased to announce the general availability of Datacom/AD 15.1 Service Update S2501.
Feature Overview
This service update for Datacom/AD consolidates all Version 15.1 features and fixes through CARS 2501 and Level Set 15.1.06 into a single pax file for installation with SMP/E and one single PSWI for installation with z/OSMF workflows. It includes the following PAXes (both ESD and Portable Software Instances or PSWI):
- AD.V15R1.CARS2501.CLASSIC.pax.Z (a single pax file for installation with SMP/E )
- AD.V15R1M6.ZOSMF.pax.Z (a single PSWI file for installation with z/OSMF workflows)
The Service Update now delivers Datacom Server 15.1 only (as the Datacom Server 15.0 will be End of Service on May 31, 2025) for Datacom/AD. We encourage all Datacom/AD users to use this Service Update PAX to move to the 15.1 release of Datacom Server in their current Datacom/AD 15.1 environments.
Key Benefit
The Service Update S2501 can be used
- to install a new Datacom/AD 15.1 instance,
- to upgrade of Datacom Server to 15.1 in a Datacom/AD 15.1 environment,
- to upgrade from prior (unsupported) Datacom/AD releases to AD 15.1, and
- as a way to "catch up" on applying accumulated maintenance if you are not regularly applying CARS maintenance as recommended.
