As part of our Simplify & Automate strategy, the Datacom team is pleased to announce the general availability of changes to Online Area Move with the new PTF LU16424!
Feature Overview
After using BA24 on a Database, Datacom DBAs are facing a limitation in moving VSAM Datasets to a different configuration. The NOOAM flag that the Block Size Alter (BA24) adds to each processed row is preventing using a tool like Online Area Move (OAM) without rerunning BA24 for the second time. This enhancement will allow Online Area Move (OAM) without rerunning Block Size Alter (BA24).
Key Benefit
With this enhancement, Datacom DBAs can now move VSAM Datasets to a different configuration without any downtime.
