Level Set PTF 15.0.09 (LU16388) for the Common Components and Services for z/OS is now available.

The following list summarizes the features that are delivered by applying the Level Set PTF.

Note: For more information about these features, see New Features in Level Set 15.0.09 in the Common Components and Services for z/OS documentation.

    • zIIP Support in Data Mover
The Data Mover component can now offload CPU-intensive workloads to a zIIP processor when one is available. The use of zIIP processors can improve performance and can reduce costs.

    • CCS Apache Tomcat Upgrade
The CCS Apache Tomcat versions have been upgraded to 9.0.102 and 10.1.39. Keeping this software current ensures that you have the latest functionality and protects you from security vulnerabilities.
    • OpenSSL 3.0.16 Support
The CAICCI/PC application (CCIPC) now supports OpenSSL 3.0.16. This application is used on PCs to enable mainframe-to-PC communication. Using the latest supported version of OpenSSL to sign and verify your TLS certificates ensures that you continue to receive security fixes for any vulnerabilities that are discovered.

    • Updated z/OSMF Configuration Workflow
The z/OSMF configuration workflow for Common Components and Services has been updated to include the Message Service. The workflow is a browser-based user interface that automates and streamlines many of the required tasks. This workflow benefits experienced systems programmers and installers with less expertise.

    • Configurable Warning Threshold for the CAIENF/Db2 Thread Table
The warning threshold for the CAIENF/ thread table is now user-configurable. Previously, the threshold was permanently set to 60 percent of the thread table size. If your thread table is consistently close to 60 percent during normal conditions, changing the threshold allows you to avoid unnecessary threshold warnings.
