Can the AI Menu items be hidden?

  • 1.  Can the AI Menu items be hidden?

    Posted May 06, 2025 12:55 PM

At this time we are not planning to enable the AI capabilities of 24.4.  Is there a way to disable the presentation of the AI options in the dropdown menu?  I would really like to reduce the number of help desk tickets being generated because "AI isn't working"?

    Thanks

There is currently no means to disable the AI buttons.

    Timothy makes an excellent point.

To avoid unnecessary ticketing, it would be good to get a message informing the user that the KI is not configured and that this is intentional.

    Setting "automation.ai.enabled = false"
in the File "../config/ecc-plugins-automation-ai/automation-ai.properties" should disable all of the AI Buttons in the AWI except for the Chatbot in the Help sidebar.

    Hmmm,

is it only me or is this setting not working? The only thing that works for me is deleting ecc-plugins-automation-ai.jar from the plugins folder.

    Regards,

    Matthias

Setting "automation.ai.enabled = false" did not do it.  Given Kaj Wierda response We have decided to just vocalize the feature being unavailable.

    Hi

For me renaming the file "...WEB-INF/plugins/core-plugin-bundles/ecc-plugins-automation-ai.jar" to "...WEB-INF/plugins/core-plugin-bundles/_ecc-plugins-automation-ai.jar_" did the trick (V24.4.1).

Thanks I'll give that a go.  We're using Azure OpenAI and that's not supported by Automic yet.

    Hi,

An update to this. We have now documented the setting to disable the AI buttons here:
    https://docs.automic.com/documentation/webhelp/english/ALL/components/DOCU/24.4.0/Automic%20Automation%20Guides/Content/Installation_Manual/AWI/awi_automation_ai_properties.htm?Highlight=automation.ai.enabled%20%3D%20false

@Leon Carroll we are working on providing support for Azure OpenAI. I will reach out to you via email.

    Hello Kaj,

I tested the setting in our dev environment (AWI Version 24.4.0+hf1 [Jetty] ). While other settings work this setting is ignored. Does this require a special version of the awi?

    Regards,

    Matthias
