Question:

Extended support for Visual Studio 2013 Update 5 is scheduled to end on April 9, 2024.

Are you planning to release Plex for supported Visual Studio during the extended support period for Visual Studio 2013 Update 5?

Yes, I received the answer like this.

The Plex Engineering team has advised that a decision has been made to certify Visual Studio 2022.

Testing and verification is currently underway by the Plex Engineering team to ensure that there are no technical "blockers".

Unfortunately, at this time there is no ETA as to when the certification process will be completed.  

We are hoping to be able to provide more details in November 2023.

The Visual Studio 2022 certification is currently being done on the latest CA Plex 7.21 version.

How the certification will be provided to customers has yet to be finalized, but most likely will be provided via a patch that will be published to the Broadcom Support Portal.

Hi All,

Hope you all are doing great.

We are currently pursuing the Visual Studio upgrade from VS 2013 to VS 2022, for Plex.

A new release has been planned (e.g. Plex r7.3) to deliver this change.

Release development work is in progress and all going as per the plan. We are expecting to deliver the new release by April 2024.

Beta validation build (English) will be available by 3rd week of January 2024.
Please do let us know if you would like to be part of the Beta validation program for this new release.
