Testing, testing, testing... That why is mandatory to thoroughly test before production every scenario, no matter is specified in the documentation.

Subject: About the problem after upgrading from 22.2.6 to 24.3.9
HI Jeffrey-san,
In additional question.
The TechDoc which you mentioned is not posted for RedHat 9.X.

My customer's environment is RedHat Linux9.5.
Best regrads,
Marubun

Subject: About the problem after upgrading from 22.2.6 to 24.3.9
HI Jeffrey-san,
Thank you for your reply.
However, I have some questions.
Q1)
>Be sure to follow this for 24.3.x spectrum required packages.
I understand that the TechDoc you provided is correct.
If so, what is the purpose of the TechDoc I provided?
What is the difference between them?
In the future, which TechDoc should we check for Spectrum and DX NetOps?
Q2)
>ncurses-compat-libs is the correct package. The library seems to have been moved to EPEL for RH 9.x.
Yes, so may we install the following package?
https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/9/Everything/x86_64/Packages/n/ncurses-compat-libs-6.2-8.20210508.1.el9.x86_64.rpm
Best regards,
Marubun

Be sure to follow this for 24.3.x spectrum required packages. When moving to new OS, make sure all the required OS packages are installed.
This applies to other NetOps apps... PM/NFA/DA/DC...
ncurses-compat-libs is the correct package. The library seems to have been moved to EPEL for RH 9.x.

Subject: About the problem after upgrading from 22.2.6 to 24.3.9
[Environment]
OS:RHEL9.5
Spectrum 24.3.9
[Question]
My customer tried to install/upgrade OS and Spectrum according to the following steps.
1: install RHEL7.2
2: install Spectrum 22.2.6
3: upgrade OS from RHEL7.2 to RHEL8.10
4: upgrade Spectrum from 22.2.6 to 24.3.9
5: upgrade OS from RHEL8.10 to RHEL9.5
After that, they tried to run the following SQL statement.
As the result, they saw the following error.
# ./mysql --defaults-file=/usr/Spectrum/mysql/my-spectrum.cnf -uroot -p[default password]
./mysql: error while loading shared libraries: libncurses.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I think this error means that "libncurses.so.5" is not installed.
However, I have some questions.
Q1)
I think that ncurses-compat-libs is needed for libncurses.so.5.
Here is the Linux System Requirements.
https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/spectrum/24-3/installing-and-upgrading/fresh-install/system-requirements-for-installing-ca-spectrum/spectroserver-and-oneclick-requirements/system-requirements-for-linux.html#concept.dita_3dffb5d2e2fdc2f0d69b47affb71fef47393d99a_RequiredPackages
According to the TechDoc,
RHEL
Pakage 64-bits noarch 9.x 8.x
ncurses-compat-libs** ✔ ✔
So "9.x" is not checked.
However, I noticed the "Note".
=====
**This library is not available under RHEL 9.x. It can be sourced from the Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) repository.
=====
So even if we don't see ✔ but if we use RedHat Linux 9.x, we need the install the package.
Correct or not?
Q2)
If the package is needed for RHEL9.x, I would like to request them to install the following package.
https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/9/Everything/x86_64/Packages/n/ncurses-compat-libs-6.2-8.20210508.1.el9.x86_64.rpm
No problem?
Best regards,
Marubun
