    Posted Jan 10, 2024 05:17 AM

    Hi,

Im testing some clients with the latest 14.3 ru8 version.

Im pushing the updates from a SEPM 14.3 ru6 to the clients after the clients is updated the client SEP get a small error (product error requires attention) then it looks like SEP is stopping and starting and get back green without any issues and is updated to ru8.

    - Is it true 14.3 ru8 version update does not longer require rebooting the clients?
    - can i manage 14.3 ru8 with sepm 14.3 ru6. It looks like no issues at all.

    Thanks for the help.

    Regards, LEvd

I miss the old days when there was some sort of community assistance :)

    Same.

Reading the patch notes before installing any new software is recommended. Reboots were indeed removed as a requirement.

    Hi Levd,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Apologies for the delay in response time.

In relation to your question about rebootless SEP client upgrades see here:
https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/226233/is-a-restart-required-for-an-endpoint-pr.html  (Starting in SEP client version 14.3 RU3 we no longer require a reboot during upgrade, however with that said there are a few exclusions in which a system reboot is indeed required, to see those check the kb above).

Separately, we don't recommend having an older SEPM manager version (for example: 14.3 RU6) managing a later version of SEP client (14.3 RU8) to avoid issues involving definition content mismatching, client communication / policy update related issues, etc.

NOTE: While it may work in testing, its not something we suggest you do long term. You'll want to make sure your SEPM manager is the same version or higher than your SEP client versions for best results.

    Thanks,
