    Steve,

    Saw your note in the IDMS-L digest. I've had no problems going to
    16.0. Any chance your sysgen statistics parm was changed? That has to
    be set to at least TASK COLLECT for perfmon to work.

    Re: SMF perfmon problem
    "Hi John,

    Thanks for the reply. I checked the sysgen and yes I have TASK COLLECT
    specified. I checked my #PMOPT member in PPOPTIONS
    and this is the values:
    #PMOPT ,
    AMACT=YES,
    AMDCLOG=NO,
    AMSMF=YES,
    AMSMFSZ=8180,
    DCSTATS=NO,
    IMACT=NO,
    IMDCLOG=NO,
    IMSMF=NO,
    SMFRCID=230
    END

    So by everything I see it should be cutting smf 230 rec's.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Dictionary page sizes
    "In the past, we used to give the load area (DDLDCLOD) a larger page size
    than the dictionary area proper (DDLDML). I don't what the rationale
    was for this, or if it is still valid. Are there any guidelines for
    dictionary page sizes? And what about the SQL catalog?

    "Kay,
    The load area was usually sized to try and keep all TXT-088 via records
    for a module clustered to minimize IO during program load.

    However, if you have a large enough program pool, this becomes moot.

    I have no experience with the SQL catalog, but basic ""minimize IO &
    overflow"" rules should still apply.
