    Tony,

I've done several tests here in both Win95 and WinNT and in all cases, I was
able to change the IP address in the CCIPC Properties without rebooting the
machine. I think you should download and install the most recent version of
the CCIPC code. To download, point your web browser to
ftp://mf.cai.com/CAproducts/ca90s and select the CCIPCW32.EXE file. It will
expand to an install image of the CCIPC code.

Changing the TCP/IP address for the host should not require a reboot of the
system as long as there is not a copy of CAIC3CCI.EXE executing at the time.
In other words, if you disconnect from the host properly and close the ODBC
session so that CAIC3CCI is terminated properly, you should be able to make
the IP address change and connect to a different host. However, if your
application fails so that the session is not properly shut down, you may
leave a copy of CAIC3CCI.EXE running so that the change doesn't take place.
You can check to see if there is a copy of CAIC3CCI.EXE active by looking in
the "Processes" tab of the Windows NT Task Manager. Additionally, there may
be a background task, such as Microsoft SQL Server, that requires
CAIC3CCI.EXE. You may have to close the process (SQL Server) and/or
CAIC3CCI.EXE for the change to take effect.

Hope this helps you in some way.

    Lynette Elwell
