DB maintenance unload utility receiving negative RC.

    We just did a conversion from v9 to v12 and with that changed the DB maintenance processing to the 'new' way.  This runs the same basic utilities Archive/Reorg/Unload with values entered directly in the JOBP 'Variable & Prompts' tab.

    Anyone else running the DB maintenance like this? 

    Success / Failure?

    We have the Archive and Reorg utilities run successfully but unload (ucybdbun) fails with negative RC.

     

     

    Arithmetic overflow (value: '-0000001073741819')!


    Anyone have this issue before?

    Hi Fred,

    we run our maintenance the same way on our V10 and V12.1.1 HF2. We had some issues with ucybdbun at the start. For example, when someone deleted a folder the unload would fail saying

    20180227/080753.392 - U00037134 CAUTION: The object '1212121k\DELETEME_FOR_TESTING_REORG' might have been moved to the Recycle Bin by accident. Processing will be aborted. Please contact Automic Support. 20180227/080753.393 - U00037022 ABORTING due to error.
    Can you provide us a complete log/report of the unload run? Cause the error message it self doesn't say much.

    Yep, that's the same error I mentioned above. Actually that was the post they made after my ticket for that case got resolved. And indeed it does work in V12.1.1 HF1.

    But, i'm not sure if that is the same error in this case as I didn't receive an arithmetic overflow.

    Isn't this your job  :p

    what if the utility is started manually via console does it appear too?
    If I remember right there was an issue with antivirus that caused the negative returncode back in V10.
    If possible pls try with deactivated antivirus.

    =) If I recall correctly it doesn't happen in this *specific* instance, but I think I've seen the same return code when started from command line in other cases. We'll be sure to check the antivirus and see if that's potentially an issue - thanks!

    The Utility is called with the ini ucybdbun_0002862332.ini and the ini is deleted while the job is running?

    Is that on purpose?

    Apologize for not monitoring conversation and replying better.

    As a recap and add information for those outside the support tickets.

    We have 4 AE servers (2 prod/2non-prod), Windows 2012r2, 1 AE server runs as active, if needed we manually failover to alternate.

    Since conversion date 1 of the 4 AE servers has run the 'new' DB utilities with no issues, the other 3 have had issues/errors with the DB unload (ucybdbun) program.

    The original failure had and error 'Utility C-loader has stopped working', further trouble shooting revealed the negative return code when running via command line/manually.  The C++ libraries were suspect, I have uninstalled multiple times testing version combinations and even run utilities with no C++ libraries, same error. 

    The JOBI 'jobi.utility.execute' does intentionally delete the "ucybdbun_*.ini" file.  I have commented out and retained file, looked at but do not see anything obvious in this.

    We are on AE v12.0.2, I am not sure if anyone has this specific version that could confirm these utilities working? I see reference to v12.1.* and above and someone can confirm working with no errors there?

    Based on time spent almost seems like an option to look at update to newer version and go from there, would be nice if there is someone/customer that could confirm though.
