  • 1.  Sync between Primary and Secondary session recording storage mounts

    Hi,

We are implementing CA PAM and we are planning to have NFS file storage for the session recording, and we plan to have 2 storages. 1 - is Primary and 2nd one is for fail over.

From the documentation, we understand that, In case of Primary storage failure for 1 hour, the session recording data is stored to failover (2nd). Once the primary server comes back online, the 1 hour session recording from secondary will be automatically recombined to Primary storage.

Set Up Session Recording - CA Privileged Access Manager - 3.0.1 - CA Technologies Documentation

My question is: when we have 2 session storage, whether the session recording data will be synchronized between primary and secondary?

At any point of time, both session storage mounts, will it have same session recordings?

    Thanks

    Dina

Hi Dina, No, they don't have the same session recordings. The backup is only used while the primary is not available. Also note this sentence in the documentation: "While the secondary share is in use, you cannot view session recordings on the secondary or the primary share until the primary is restored.”
