  • 1.  Installing Eclipse Plugin in RAD 8.5

I've managed to install the plugin in RAD 8.5 in the past, but have just been issued a new computer and have had to start from scratch. So far, I've copied the Zest JARs I keep on hand to the plugins directory, and RAD recognizes them as installed. The other GEF dependencies are already part of the RAD installation. I then installed a copy of release 12.5 of the plugin.

But RAD shows know evidence of it; the views associated with SCM aren't available, nor are the context menu Team commands.

I've tried using the instructions here: https://support.ca.com/us/product-content/recommended-reading/announcements/ca-harvest-software-change-manager-plug-in-for-eclipse---r12_6-update-site.html. But although I can download version 12.6 of the plugin (installing it yields the same result), and any of the dependency files for various versions of Eclipse, the CA web site denies me access to the dependency file for RAD 8.5.

I'm using version 12.5 of the SCM Workbench.

    Thank you for your help.

    I have solved my problem.

Eventually, I found advice compatible with my installation here: https://support.ca.com/us/product-content/recommended-reading/product-related-technical-information/ca-harvest-software-change-manager-plug-in-for-eclipse-r125-update-site.html.

There were no obstacles to the necessary downloads. But I was unable to install the Zest plug-in (the only dependency required) as RAD constantly reported a compatibility issue, until I installed while running RAD as an Administrator. The installation of the dependency, and of the SCM plugin, followed with no further problems, and the plugin now works each time I start RAD.
