SNMP on windows server feeding a nagios program on unix

having issues getting SNMP to work between automation engine and nagios. tried following all the help guides in AE but i must be missing something.

in one of the wpsrv log files i have the below error

U00003376 SNMP is active but the server is not connected to the agent. 

the help file for messages tells me nothing, so does anyone have any ideas how to resolve, or is there a fool proof(idiots guide) to setting up snmp with nagios that even i could follow.

A few things to check:

• SNMP Sub-Agent is installed on the same server as the AE
• Restarted the SNMP service after installing the Sub-Agent

Hi Jennifer,
Short of restarting the snmp service for windows i had followed the set up guide in the AE documentation. Hopefully this is what has caused it to not function, I shall try testing a few traps to see if the restart of the service had an effect.

20150608/102822.647 -          No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

When it says target machine is it referring to the nagios host server? Is it a firewall issue?

This is a common TCP/IP Error saying -  No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Usually its a Software Firewall (on the target machine) issue - I observed it as UAC issue on WIN machines as well.

Simone did you get your issue resolved. We've turned off UAC and several other things but still: Connection to SNMP agent could not be established (Code '10061').
