    Hi Guys,

I am looking for instructions for installation of Nimsoft agent on a Linux box to enable monitoring of that box. I have come across with the below KB. When I checked, I felt like it is for Infrastructure Manager installation and Nimsoft server.

How to install a Linux Robot

Can someone share the link or instructions for Nimsoft agent installation on a linux box if this one is not relevant.

    Regards,

    IK

    Here is URL

Deploy Hubs and Robots on Linux or Solaris Systems - CA Unified Infrastructure Management - 8.5.1 - CA Technologies Docu…

There are 2 installation types. HUB and Robot.

The response to installation prompt decides installation type for you.

    Hello. Which port is target in telnet (direction : HUB -> Robot) 48000 ? 48001 ? 48002 ?

The Robot listens to 48000 and 48001 but not 48002.

    Regards,

    Yu

    Hi Ishitani,

We are trying to telnet from Hub--> Robot on port 48000 but getting failed. When i checked with the unix admin, they confirmed me that firewall is disabled in OS and port is listening. I am not sure what to check now. Can you suggest?

    IK

    Hi,

Have you checked if the nimsoft processes are up i.e controller/hdb/spooler on the robot. Also set the robotip to correct ip  and first_probe_port to 48000 in robot.cfg and restart robot

    ps -ef | grep nim

    Regards,

    Frank

UIM robot is not yet supported on Linux RHEL7.  See Support Matrix for CA Unified Infrastructure Management Probes for the current list of supported Operating Systems for UIM probes (check the controller, hdb, and/or spooler probe for robots).

RHEL 7 is supported on the 64bit version of the probe...  if you scroll down towards the end of the support matrix in the Linux x86_64 section, the controller, hdb and spooler, along with a bunch of the other probes, are checked off in the RHEL7 column.

    Hi Chris,

How do we can check if we are using 64 bit probes.

    Hello.

You don't have to take care if your probes are 64bit or not.

You just need to take care your probes are 'Supported' in your Robot platform.

This is what Chris is mentioning.

    Yu
