Loading Outlook (.msg) attachments

     I reverted back to the old Rally version after experiencing problems with the new version and now I cannot open message files saved as attachments inside a user story -- previously had no trouble doing so. I now get an error message stating I don't have sufficient permissions to open the attachment, and I imagine that if I as the story author get that, so would my teammates. The messages (attachments) contained testing instructions among other useful information rather than copying huge amounts of text in the story body (a practice that Rally is horrible at supporting, ironically, hence that workaround).

     This is creating too much work to maintain a story. Help??

Hi Veronica, 

Where are you attempting to open the attachment from?  From the user story details page (old version), I have no issue although it downloads to my computer rather than launches (as I don't have Outlook installed).  I would imagine if you are actually trying to open a .msg file, your computer would be attempting to launch Outlook to open the file.  If, for some reason, your browser doesn't have permission to launch it in Outlook, that could cause an issue. 

Or, I could be completely off-base! :)  Could you please post a screenshot of the error so we can see what you see?   Thanks!

John, after resetting Outlook, the issue is not reproducible. We can probably blame bad connection with Outlook. We can close this thread now.
