  • 1.  Can you run tests and track the result of each test step in Rally?

    Hi
Is it possible to execute test steps and track the result for each step through Rally?
So far, I've found how to track results against test cases but not test steps.
Also, in the help pages for Manage Tests > Manage Test Runs, a Run (tests?) icon is mentioned but I don't see that icon when I go to the Test Plan summary page as suggested.  Why is that?  Is it a permissions thing?

    Thanks and regards

    Phil

There is a link to a Test Run page on both User Stories and Defect in the left sidebar, and you can access the Test Run pages from both the Track > Iteration Test Case Status page or the Track > Test Plan page.  There isn't a report or app that will provide information by specific test steps, but there is a Test Case Pass/Fail History app that might be helpful if the Test Run pages don't provide what you need.
To install the app on an existing custom page:
    Navigate to the page
    Click Actions > Add App
Select the app from the list
    Click Add
    Click Save

To create a custom page and add the app:Click the tab you want to add the page to
    Click the + symbol
    Name the Page, click Save
    Select the page layout
    Click Start adding apps
Select the app from the list
    Click Add
    Click Save

This is a big complaint from me as well. I feel this is severely lacking from the Rally Quality module... knowing which step fails would be very useful.

So the "Last run report" for test cases (which has the run result for each step in test case) can be copied to Rally? Is there a xml mapping we can do in the run results xml ?
