    Hi All,

    We have started
    to monitor the Cisco WLAN environment  which
    utilizes the Airspace MIB in the Spectrum 9.4.2.1 CsVendor directory. I enabled the
    eventID 4b60007 (LRAD Disassociation) alert as a minor alarm.  It does a good job of alerting when an AP
    loses contact. However, the only information provided by the Alarm is the
    bsnAPMacAddrTrapVariable which is the AP’s Wireless mac address. The problem is,
    the alert does not provide the Physical mac
    address of the AP which is the only piece of information which can be correlated
    in the Cisco PI application.  Has anyone
    else encountered this, and can you share what have you done to work around
    this?

    Thanks

    Patrick

    Not sure if there is a way around this or not. That event originates from the bsnAPDisassociated trap which only send two variables:

    bsnAPDisassociated NOTIFICATION-TYPE

        OBJECTS         {

                            bsnAPMacAddrTrapVariable,

                            bsnAPName

                        }

        STATUS          current

        DESCRIPTION

            "When Airespace AP disassociates from Airespace Switch, AP

            disassociated notification will be sent with dot3 MAC address

            of Airespace AP management system to remove Airespace AP from

            this Airespace Switch"

       ::= { bsnTraps 8 }

    Hi pmurt,

    My recommendation is to upgrade to Spectrum 10.1. We have added support for Cisco Wireless Controllers and Access Points monitoring.

    Here is the short teaser video of the same: CA Spectrum: Wireless LAN Controller - YouTube

    Thanks,
