    Hi,

Have anyone encountered a situation where the server responds to ping however the server is hung for some reason. In this case how do we make Nimsoft to trigger an event? Any ideas.

A robot inactive alert is trigger on all the scenarios atleast in what I observed.

I always monitor the process using the processes probe as I have run into this issue in the past. The processes probe gives you better options of catching a "hung" services. I usually of course monitor the status of the process, but I have found the monitoring the CPU and if the CPU drops to 0% for x amount of time then generate an alert. There are other options as well involving triggers etc...

    Hope that helps you out.

Also, best to work with the application owner to understand normal behavior etc..

This will help guide your monitoring recommendation.
