    Hi Tushar,

Are you talking about Cisco IP SLA test? IP SLA tests are managed under Service Performance Manager in Spectrum.

If so, make sure you have modeled the Cisco device with WRITE SNMP Community String and follow below steps to create IP SLA test.

    To create a new test

    1. Expand Service Performance Manager in the Explorer tab.

The Templates and Test Hosts folders appear.

    2. Expand the Test Hosts folder.

A list of all test hosts in the DSS environment appear.

Note: When a test host is expanded, all test models that exist for that host are shown.

    3. Right-click the test host for which you want to create the test, select New Test and then a test type.

The New Test dialog opens, letting you configure test parameters.

    4. Configure test settings and click OK.

The new test is saved. Information about the new test appears on the Information tab in the Component Detail panel for the test host in the Test List table.

    Hi Sangtoki

when i am performing test i got "Failure" and "Bad Configuration Error"

So i am asking that on host side we need to select spectroserver ip or the ip of the host which we want to perform the test.

please tell me the source n destination IPs.

    Hi Tushar,

The error normally indicates wrong Test parameter has been set or the Test Host doesn't support the parameter settings.

What IP SLA test you have created, is it a Jitter test or ICMP test? How do you set your Test parameter?

Please be informed that Spectrum doesn't do IP SLA Test (SpectroSERVER can only do ICMP/ping test). The Cisco router does the IP SLA test. E.g. if you right-click the <router>_RTMHost Test Host model create an ICMP test to IP xx.xx.xx.xx, that means selected Cisco router (Test Host) will do the ping periodically to IP xx.xx.xx.xx and give the response time result. This response time result can give you alarm if, for example, there is latency in ping response to that IP.

As mentioned above, SpectroSERVER can only does ICMP test for you, in that case you right-click the <SpectroSERVER hostname>_RTMHost model under the Test Host folder, select New Test -> ICMP. In this case the Test Host (SpectroSERVER) will do ping test periodically to specified destination address and get the response time. You can configure Threshold monitoring against the response time result.

If you have a Server with SystemEDGE + SRM (Service Response Monitoring) plugin and model this in Spectrum the model will be a Test Host model. This SystemEDGE Test Host can do more types of Tests besides ICMP Test.

    I hope this helps.
