  • 1.  Agent instalation in linux FEDORA - Could not display the GUI

    Posted Dec 05, 2014 07:49 AM

    Hi team,

I'm trying to install LISA RA Agent on Linux Fedora 17. All the times the message bellow apears:

Could not display the GUI. This aplication needs access to an X Server.

    Some information about the system:

    Fedora 17

    Java 1.8.0_25

Already tried on Fedora 14 and the same problem happened.

Does anyone already had this problem?

    Thanks!

    Francis

    Hi Francis,

According to the list of supported platforms (https://wiki.ca.com/display/RA50/Agent+Installation+Support) Fedora is not officially supported. That means that the installer may not work and if it does then subsequent problems you might have will likely not have a fix produced if it is related to the agent and its unsupported platform. With that said, if you still wish to try an agent install then one idea is to open a shell prompt and run the nolio_agent_<ver>.sh installer.

However, to avoid any possible supportability problems you may want to consider using the Run SSH Command action. Depending on what you need to do on those systems it may suffice.

    Best Regards,

    Gregg
