HA Probe Test

I was testing the HA probe to ensure the failover of our primary hub to our secondary hub.  The failover worked as expected.  I shutdown the server (primary hub),the secondary took over and all qet queues and probes activated.  The nas was sending out alarms as expected but I noticed that when we assigned an alarm to ourselves we would not get an email as we normally would.  I did not see any errors in the emailgtwy log. 

Where are the assigned alarms configured to send out an email?

Both the emailgtwy and nas probes are configured exactly the same on primary and seconday hub.

Configs may be the same however did you verify the secondary server has connectivity and access to send email to your mail relay it's passing message off to?  perhaps there's a specific firewall port punch for port 25 form only your main hub.  you shoul dbe abel to test by telneting to your mail relay on port 25, telnet mailrelayip 25.   Also have you checked if the mail relay is configured to only allowing your main hub to relay within its config.

 

You can also setup activity monitor in the nas for email to see if it is even trying to email via one of your profiles.  on th estatus tab click button for view activity.  another window opens with a configure button. tuen on and select "email send".

If you use custom email templates you will also need to copy these over from your primary hub. I am not sure what the gateway does on a missing template but no email would not suprise me.
