  • 1.  Reset File Prefix Gen

    Some years ago we ran out of file prefix's and we did something to reset the model.   Unfortunately the person who did that is no longer here and we can't find documentation to tell us how to reset this.   Any ideas?

    Sorry, the problem is generated field names, not file.   When adding a new field, the field name comes up blank.

    The file you need to change is YALCVNMRFP in the model library. This has the prefixes for files (FIL), formats (FMT), functions (MSG) and each field type.  If you use ywrkf to work with this file, you should see the record for the field type you are having a problem with. My instructions say to delete the record, and Synon will recreate it starting at AA again.  - Bob

    YEDTNXTMNC is documented in the Administrators Guide and is I believe what you are looking for. I think you will need to change the type code. The 2E Wiki has ingformation on getting manuals.
