  • 1.  SNMP Monitoring of IBM Storwize V7000

    Hi all,

Has anyone successfully managed to monitor an IBM Storwize V7000 with Spectrum/SNMP.
Some of my colleagues have been trying, but without much success. From what they told me, they are unable to connect to the device over SNMP and have tried all SNMP version. Configuration on the device seems to be ok and in line with examples and instruction from the IBM documentation. SNMP traps to Spectrum work fine.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
    Suggestions are welcome :)

    Thanks,
    Michiel

    Hi Michiel,

At the bare minimum Spectrum should be able to discover any SNMP capable device as a GnSNMPDev model type as long as the vendor supports the Mib-2 branch.  We should be able to troubleshoot this further with a sapwalk of the device (sapwalk2 is shipped with Spectrum in $SPECROOT/bin) and a tcpdump of the discovery.  If you can please provide this information in a support issue we can investigate this further.

    Best regards,

    Glenn
