Convert task to story

Is there a way to convert tasks into user stories? We have a bunch of tasks created under just one story and I want them to be stories instead.

I do not believe that AC gave the ability to convert tasks into User Stories yet. Defects can be converted to User Stories and User Stories can be converted to Portfolio Items/Defects. 

 

Which brings me to a question.... will there be a functionality on the QDP to select the settings to convert? As I see it only available on the EDP still...

Thanks Kalina for the response. That's what I feared. It feels like a basic need, I have no idea why such an option is not available.

 

And I don't know what QDP  and EDP mean..

The better question is Why?  Is what you want to convert really a User Story?  Does it meet the INVEST criteria?  So many people in this thread feel this should be fundamental functionality.  I think it should go the other way...convert a User Story to a Task, because so may user stories that are created (especially by devs) are really Tasks.  "As a Developer I want to create a new table in the database to store new records" is NOT a user story.  First, a Developer is most likely not a valid persona (user).  Secondly, no real user of your app cares where or how you store the data. They want the result of that storage, which is the real user story.  "As a newly registered shopper I want my credit card information stored for future use", where creating the new table in the database is a Task.
