symantec recommends that you use the web-based help desk recovery console

Hello,

Normally if one of my users forgets his encryption password im using the SEE Help Desk plugin to reset his or her password, this works great.
However right now if i start the plugin there is a red text: "Symantec recommends that you use the web-based help desk recovery console. This Help Desk recovery snap-in is deprecated and will not be available in future releases. Click this link to open the web-based help desk.

So i click the link and want to login with my SEE Management account, this is not working. You do not have the helpdesk role to sign in.
In the "old" helpdesk recovery snapin in can login without any problems.

Any idea how to solve this issue?

What version of SEE are you running?

This should be as simple as:

1. Launch SEEMS Configuration Manager
2. open the Server Roles tab
3. Enable "Manage Server Roles"
4. Give yourself the "Server" role (that includes all permissions)
5. Log into the Helpdesk Recovery site again and fire away

Note:  Do not tick the "Allow SEE to manage DB Permissions" checkbox, I've had repeated issues with that.

There was a bug with the "Allow SEE to manage DB Permissions" checkbox where if the fqdn and netbios domain names for your AD domain were different, it would cause issues.  This was fixed in version 11.1.3.
