Description:
***** Product Error Alert *****
After application of CIC6760, first delivered in r12.8, the following
data elements in the following CA MICS files can have overstated
values when the input data is IBM CMF (SMF type 110) records:
IF YOU ARE PROCESSING PRE-CTS 5.1 DATA:
CICS User Activity (CICCSU)
CICS Application Unit Activity (CICCAU)
CSUCPRTM, CAUCPRTM - Task CPU Real Time
CSUCPUNI, CAUCPUNI - Instructions Executed
CSUCPUTM, CAUCPUTM - Task CPU Time
CSUMXTRT, CAUMXTRT - Max Transaction CPU Time
CSUTCBTM, CAUTCBTM - TCB CPU Time
CSUXCSTM, CAUXCSTM - Task CPU Time Without zIIP/zAAP Eligible
CSUXTSTM, CAUXTSTM - TCB CPU Time Without zIIP/zAAP Eligible
CICS System Activity (CICCSY)
CSYCPUNI - Instructions Executed
CSYCPUTM - CPU Time Consumed
CSYTCBTM - Total CICS TCB CPU Time
CSYXCSTM - Task CPU Time Without zIIP/zAAP Eligible
CSYXTSTM - TCB CPU Time Without zIIP/zAAP Eligible
IF YOU ARE PROCESSING CTS 5.1 (OR LATER) DATA:
CICS User Activity (CICCSU)
CICS Application Unit Activity (CICCAU)
CICS System Activity (CICCSY)
CSUNZZTM, CAUNZZTM, CSYNZZTM - Normalized zIIP/zAAP CPU Time
For all releases, these CPU time related data elements will only
be overstated if you have non-zero values for the following data
elements:
fffMQSTM - XML System Services CPU Time
fffRLSTM - SRB CPU Time for RLS
where fff is CSU, CAU, or CSY
At many sites, the fffMQSTM and fffRLSTM data elements consistently
have a value of zero. If these two data elements have a value of zero,
the problem of overstated CPU time values does not occur.
SYMPTOMS
The CPU time values listed above show higher than normal values after
CIC6760 is applied. If chargeback algorithms use the listed data
elements, computed charges will show higher than normal values.
IMPACT
The most significant impact is overcharging for CPU usage. Reporting
and analysis of CICS CPU usage is also impacted.
This problem does not occur when the input data source is ASG-TMON
(TCE) records.
CIRCUMVENTION
None.
