Good day.  Our company is in the process of upgrading to Plex 7.2.1 from Plex 6.1.  We support multiple sites and are also looking into upgrading to a new IBM with an operating system of V7R2 - We used to run on V6R1.  The question we have is will the new compiled RPG programs on V7R2 still work on the IBM with V6R1?

    Hi Dawid,

As per the Plex compatibility matrix, Plex r7.2.1 is certified with IBM V7R2, V7R1, V7R3.

V6R1 is EOS (possibly with extended support for some more time) and not certified with Plex r7.2.1 – new generated code with Plex r7.2.1 may work on V6R1 platform but it’s not supported combination.

    Regards, Norbert

Thank you for the reply Norbert.  I am unable to open the compatibility matrix - get a "You are not authorized to view this content" error message. Is there another way for me to get this document?

At this stage we have compiled our Plex 7.2.1 programs on V6R1 and all seems fine.  In the coming weeks we will get our new IBM with V7R2.

We will then ideally just move our code over to the new IBM and any new changes we will then compile on V7R2.  I trust that this will not be an issue but please advise if it is going to be.

The next phase we will need to move the Plex 7 code to one of our other sites that still runs V6R1.  There will be a mixture of Plex7 code compiled on V7R2 and V6R1 at this site.  Will this be an issue?

    Hi,

    as I wrote before

new generated code with Plex r7.2.1 may work on V6R1 platform but it’s not supported combination.

V6R1 is EOS (possibly with extended support for some more time) and not certified with Plex r7.2.1.
