  • 1.  EEM Dxserver failing - not found

    Posted Nov 02, 2020 12:31 PM
    Hi Team,

    While installing EEM (12.51v) on Linux 7.2 machine the setup is failing with message "bash - dxserver not found ".

    Also, exit code RC-252.

    I even noticed no Dxserver and Itechnology folders available under /opt/CA/SharedComponents.

    FYI, i am doing the setup with Root users only.

    Request teams to suggest on this error.

    Thank You,
    Maruthi

    Hi Darryl,
    Thanks for the update, I have referred the link and followed below steps....

    This user created --> dsa
    home path --> /opt/CA/SharedComponents/CADirectory/dxserver
    setup failed -> bash dxserver not found

    Then, I have removed this dsa user from unix  and created, dxuser --> new user
    home path --> /opt/CA/SharedComponents/CADirectory/dxserver
    setup failing -> EEM-User dsa is not found. Not starting CA directory services.
                            EEM - igateway folder not found, not starting Igateway services.

    Could you please suggest on further checks.

    Hi Maruthi,

    It looks like the user you have created is named 'dxuser' instead of 'dsa'.

    I recommend that you remove the 'dxuser' account from your RHEL machine. If it exists, I also recommend that you remove the existing 'dsa' account. Once the account(s) have been removed re-run the installer.

    The dsa account, the default UNIX group and home directory will all be created as part of a successful installation.

    Kind regards,
    John

    Hi John,

    I have removed the dsa and dxuser users and re-started the setup with root user, still the setup is failing.
    [root@hostname CA]# whoami
    root
    [root@hostname CA]# id dsa
    id: dsa: no such user
    [root@hostname CA]# id dxuser
    id: dxuser: no such user
    [root@hostname CA]#
