We have 2 VMs with 3 X non-shared disks which are configured with Dependent disk mode & another 3 X shared disks as Multi-Writer with Independent persistent disk mode. We failed to take a snapshot of the VM, our intention is to take a VM level backup of the non shared disks. For oracle DB we are performing Oracle RMAN based backup with NetBackup. The article Backing up Oracle Workloads (RAC & Non-RAC) with VMware Snapshot Technology - Virtualize Applications is describing the same issue and workaround, but it's not clear. Can anyone support us
