PowerCLI Script to Install VMware Host Patches

Mar 16, 2016 09:04 PM

I wrote this script to make my host patching more effecient.

When I was updating my hosts, while installing updates, I would get involved in other tasks, miss when the host came back after restarting to perform more updates or remove from Maintenance Mode.  This meant I was only doing 2 maybe 3 hosts a day.  With this script, I can install critical & non-critical patches, then install a host extension, reboot, and remove the host from Maintenance Mode in 30-45 min..  Also, I get a popup box when the script is done running, so I don't miss it being finished!
