Hi everyone - I am running Ubuntu 22.04 in a VM hosted by Windows 11

The VM can connect to the internet if I turn NAT on. When configured that way, the Windows and the VM cannot see each other on the network, nor can the VM see any other machine on the network, even though all of the IP's are on the same subdomain: 10.0.0 .

The main problem, though, is that bridged network does not work at all for the VM.

I notice that in the Virtual Network Editor, neither of the networks is bridged and I am unable to set "type" to "Bridged" for VMnet1 which gives the error shown in the screenshot below: "Cannot change network to bridged: There are no un-bridged host network adaptors."

Before going into the details of the things I have tried, I want to ask if this behavior points to what the problem is?

Thanks for any help and direction you can provide. -- Don

@Donald Krieger,

The error message indicates that workstation have adapters that are already bridged despite there not being any listed in the virtual network editor. Well, simple solution in this case is to use 'Restore Defaults' option that could help.

In response to the suggestion by Shen88 to "Restore Defaults:"

  I have tried this twice, just did so again, and it has not shown vmnet0.

  It takes many minutes to complete "installing network adapters." Is that reasonable?

  It only shows vmnet1 and vmnet8 configured as shown in the screen shot.

  When I try to add VMnet0 as "Bridged," it gives the same error shown in the screen shot.

  If I leave it as "Host-only" and then try to add it, it takes many minutes to complete on "Updating VMnet0: Install host virtual adapter." I wonder if this indicates a problem.
