Hello I've tried with multiple usb thumb drives and get the same results. Trouble shooting I've tried.

1.USB drive works on another PC

2. Restarted the VM

3. uninstalled and reinstalled the usb controller though fusion

4. uninstalled all the root hubs on windows 11

5. Checked for updated software/drivers

Running OSX 15.3 on an Intel Mac, VM Ware fusion 13.6.2 with Windows 11.

USB drive will show up fine on Mac

disk utility
Shows up fine in the usb menu in vmware as "jump"

Kind of stuck at this point because Broadcom support has not options for me.

Can you check the macOS System Settings > Security & Privacy > Files & Folders? Verify that VMware Fusion has access to Removable Volumes.

Let’s rule out Windows first.

Have you tried to run the troubleshooters within Windows?

If you compare the Windows Device manager in your physical Windows PC, are the drivers listed in the Drivers tab for the USB mass storage devices the same or are they different?

What is the model number of this USB device? USB 3 or 4 device?

And, which Intel Mac are you using?

You might want to attach the vmware.log file found in the VM’s bundle folder. We might be able to see some things in it that might give us an idea about what’s going on.

Hello sorry for the delay,

I have tried running the trouble shooter and it comes up with no issues. The drives work perfectly on my other M1 Mac and on my standard PC. Again the drives appear fine on the mac side and within the USB menu through VM ware. Just get a USB Mass Storage Device issues when plugging in a USB drive. They are usb 2 or 3.o device and I definitely made sure that option was checked. I uploaded the fusion logs but not quite sure which one you need.

I do get the prompt to select which side I want to connect the USB to when I plug it in. I've tried multiple ports as well. Using a Retina 5k iMac 2020 3.3 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5 with 72Gb of ram.

That did it! Thank you. Somehow with the software update is disabled accessing removable drives.
