Hi All,

We do have 2 sites and Like to setup a stretched cluster with 2 following options under OSA.

vSAN setup 1 with 2 fault tolerances per site. Overall 4 fault tolerance in a cluster.

Cluster 01  ->  8(Site A) + 8(Site B)

DG group1 -> 1*1500 GB & 4*7.6 TB

DG group2 -> 1*1500 GB & 4*7.6 TB

vSAN setup 2 with 2 fault tolerances per site. Overall 4 fault tolerance in a cluster.

Cluster 02  ->  12(Site A) + 12(Site B)

DG group1 -> 1*1500 GB & 4*7.6 TB

DG group2 -> 1*1500 GB & 4*7.6 TB

Questions:

I see this article,

https://www.reddit.com/r/vmware/comments/111k56s/negative_experiences_with_large_vsan_stretched/

2) What are all the implications may come if we consider large  12+12 cluster?

3) Do we have any specific consideration before setting up this vSAN stretched cluster?

4)  PFTT -> Means site failure.I have set it as 1. SFTT =2 I have set it as 2.It refers per site value? My cluster overall will sustain four failures.

I find it a bit difficult to understand your questions to be honest.

1: there are no implications of doing 12+12 other than you will be limited in terms of how big he cluster can get. Stretched unfortunately doesn't go to 64 at this point in time.

2) there's plenty of documentation on core.vmware.com/vsan which goes over what to consider when implementing

3) PFTT = Site Failure, SFTT = Failures within a site/ So if you set it PFTT=1, SFTT=2 then you can sustain 1 site failure, and 2 failures within a site before data will be impacted.
