my vCLS are running on a particular datastore which i had to delete it. so i migrated these vCLS using svmotion, vCLS migrated successfully to other ds but could not power on, and start giving error

"no host is compatible with the virtual machine"

my all hosts in cluster are same cpu family.

i also tried this solution:

  1. Upgrade the VM’s “Compatibility” version to at least “VM version 14” (right-click the VM)
  2. Click on the VM, click on the Configure tab and click on “VMware EVC

after performing these steps, a new vCLS is created and running but the old is still struggling to power on and giving error. vcenter service was also restarted and also tried to delete vcls folder but no vain

Just try disabling HA on the cluster and re-enabling it. That should re-deploy them on valid datastores. Also best to not storage vmotion those appliances. You can configure vCenter to specify which datastores they should reside on. The rest should happen automatically.

what is the error you get in the vmware.log file of those VMs?

@Duncan Epping : the error cpuid.mwait appearing in log file.. which i assume this feature is already present in bios as these vLCS were working perfectly before storage vmotion. i have also attached log file.

I followed your article yellow-bricks , upgraded VMs compatibility from host console as this option was grayed out in vcenter, after disabling EVC, another vCLS vm was created but in poweroff mode, and the vCLS which was used to be created start working see below.
