Hi,

I just created a new account. Whenever I go to My Downloads > Free Downloads > VMware Fusion > 13.6.3, it asks me for additional verification. So I provide it (my address and postal code) and agree to the terms, but when it goes back just keeps asking me for the same verification over and over and never actually downloads the installer. I think something is broken on the site. Is anyone else encountering this? Thanks in advance.

I have an old account, but I can't download either. I called another country, spoke a foreign language with tech support so that they could open a ticket in tech support, because ordinary people can't open a ticket through the platform. And now for 10 days we are trying to solve the problems... but in general nothing has changed. Good luck to you)

Did you see the following post in the water cooler community https://community.broadcom.com/blogs/julia-klaus/2025/05/25/trouble-downloading-fusion-or-workstation-account?CommunityKey=f92efc9f-0875-4c00-ad19-f20b3185f059

Of particular note is that the registration system doesn’t seem to like non-English characters or punctuation.

When you spoke to a Broadcom support, did you indicate that you were having a web site access issue? You should have been asked that question by the phone system before speaking to a representative. This isn’t a product problem so you have to make sure you’re not trying to open a product support ticket.

A phone call to Broadcom is the only way to get this resolved. Both for a new account or old accounts migrated from VMware.

Yes, I read the blog post and other threads. But the blog post was written in May, and now it's July and nothing has changed since then. Even a call and letters to tech support for 10 days now have not been able to help me solve the problem. I don't even understand what the problem is - absolutely no information. The conversation with tech support goes something like this: "we allowed you to try again" and I tell them that nothing has changed. If only there was at least one explanation for my problem, what I'm doing wrong. But there is absolutely no transparency, it seems that not a single person has been able to download the program after the change in download policy. I hope the company's management has statistics - on downloading the application, which apparently is 0. I hope this is only for free users, because such a level of paid support would disappoint me as a customer.

Today I could download the new version of VMware Fusion 13.6.4 without a request about location data appearing.

I wonder if you tried too early and the installer hadn't made its way through Broadcom's content distribution system. The release notes for Fusion 13.6.4 say that the release date was 2024-July-15 (yesterday).

Update: I'm wondering also if the delay was related to the disclosure of a number of security vulnerabilities. Security Advisory ID VMSA-2025-0013 released on 15-july-2025 notes issues fixed in both Fusion 13.6.4 and Workstation 17.6.4 (as well as other VMware products). I think they may have tied the updates to the release of the security advisory. Not uncommon when product security polices are that vulnerabilities aren't disclosed until fixes are available.
