Hi all.

My MacBook Spec.

I'm trying to install Fusion Pro, so that I can run a Windows program.

I've downloaded Fusion Pro, 13.5.2.  If I install it, I do not see the option I'm expecting from YouTube vids I've watch, to install a Windows OS.  For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWXO4DhQRL0.  I'm expecting to see "get windows from microsoft" as an option: -

However, I actually see the following: -

How am I supposed to install a Windows OS within the VM from here?

I've tried various versions of Fusion, in the hope it's some sort of compatibility issue with my ancient Macbook.  But, 13.0.2 does the same.  If I go back further than v13.x, I have to find a licence key from somewhere and I can't find anywhere to get one.

I'm slowly giving up the will to live!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You're running on an Intel Mac. The "Get Windows from Microsoft" option is only available when running on Apple Silicon (M1/2/3) Macs (the video that you linked to should have really made that clear). The option is only available on Apple Silicon Macs because Microsoft doesn't provide a means (yet) for consumers to download the ARM versions of Windows 11.

You'll need to download a Windows x86_64 (64-bit Intel) disk image ISO from Microsoft's web site https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

Then use that to install Windows 11 - and don't choose the Easy Install option if it gives it to you.
