Shared folders on Windows 10 guest, booting WinPE Rescue Media on Linux Mint host

Hello, I'm trying to use a Macrium Reflect Rescue Media ISO file to restore a mrimgx image to a Windows 10 guest on VMware Workstation 17 that is running on a Linux Mint Host (Cinnamon). I have enabled Shared Folders on VMware and pointed that to a Linux folder. The Rescue Media ISO loads but it can locate the shared folder and therefore the mrimgx image. Trying to map to the shared folder using net use r: \\IP address of host or VM name\share name gives "network name not found".

I have tried to install VMware Tools from the VM menu. It puts that ISO in the virtual DVD drive but it doesn't load. When I run its setup.exe from the WinPE command prompt, the response is "The image file D:\setup.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other that the current machine". I assume VM Tools won't run under WinPE. I have taken the driver the from VM Tools ISO (vmhgfs.inf) with the supporting sys and dll files but it won't load manually using drvload.

When booting from WinPE, is it possible to map a drive to a VMware shared folder that will allow access to a LInux folder? I could then point Macrium Restore on the rescue media to an image and restore it to the Windows 10 VM.

Thanks
