Old Distributed Firewall(DFW) licenses with VVF, will it work?

Having a customer who has 1 1/2 years left on "old"-DFW perpetual license. They have to upgrade to the new subscription model on the hypervisor(finding out that Standard doesn't work, since it does not incl VDS.) And the new subscription-based DFW is an add-on to VCF.

So the question is this:

DFW needs distributed switches(VDS) to work. So can they still use it with a VVF license? Until the DFW "expires" and then they will need to upgrade to VCF. Or will they be forced onto VCF to be able to use the old-DFW licenses?

Got this tested and VVF will work with the old DFW licenses as suspected. But when they expire(running out of support) they will need to move to VCF or VCF Edge when vDefence has been added officially.
