App: VMWare Workstation Pro 17.6.3 on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
Bonjour ! I have been trying to use VMWare for Windows emulation, but I've run into a major annoyance. Every time I mouse in and out of the window, VMWare yells at me, and if I do so repeatedly, its yelling causes multiple seconds of lag. I saw online that adding mks.noBeep = "TRUE" to your ~/.vmware/config file should fix it, but that didn't work. Adding it to my .vmx file didn't work. Adding it to /etc/vmware/config didn't work. No combination of those worked. I don't want to disable my system bell entirely, since it is quite useful when used for actual alerts, but I don't need to be alerted to an action I am consciously doing. How do I fix this?
